Become a Lambda Beta Member
To qualify for membership, a respiratory care student must have completed 50% of their respiratory care courses and hold a GPA that ranks in the top 25 percent of the respiratory class, or have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. The individual must be of good character and be nominated by faculty or chapter officers from a Lambda Beta Chapter. Also, a graduate who meets the 25% criteria or 3.5 cumulative GPA at the time of graduation can become a member of Lambda Beta as an Alumni member. If a graduate comes from a program approved by CoARC or accredited by CAAHEP (or its predecessor CAHEA) that is now closed, as long as they met the requirements for membership when they graduated, they can nominate themselves for membership. These individuals shall provide evidence of their academic standing (e.g., a transcript or a letter from a member of the program faculty who attests to the candidate’s academic ability). All candidates who apply for this type of membership require full Board approval.
Individuals accepting a nomination to become a Lambda Beta member must submit an application and a one-time $25 fee to the Executive Office. Upon receipt, the Executive Office will forward a new member packet including a certificate and ribbon to be worn on a graduation gown.
Student Membership Categories:
